PARC NATIONAL DE LOBEKE

Located in the East of Cameroon region, which constitutes the reservoir of the main riches due to its subsoil rich in minerals and the immense equatorial forest, the Lobéké National Park with an area of ​​217,854 ha,  is full of several animal species of which you can observe the wild way of life. It is one of the protected areas that the Sangha Tri-National forms, namely: Dzanga Sangha National Park in the Central Africa Republic, Nouabalé Ndoki in Congo Brazzaville and Lobéké in Cameroon. There are several bays on which observations of mammals (gorillas, chimpanzees, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, bongos, etc.) are possible.

Program

10 Days/9 Nights

Day1 : HEXAGON – YAOUNDE

Reception at the Yaoundé International Airport which is the political capital of Cameroon, created in 1889 by the Germans Kurt MORGEN and Georges ZINKER accompanied by Cameroonians, it is a green city surrounded by multiple hills, transfer to the hotel, installation, dinner and overnight at Signature hotel.

Day 2 : YAOUNDE – YOKADOUMA

Morning wake up, departure from Yaoundé for Yokadouma through a magnificent landscape and at the same time green according to the season, our journey is on 340 km of paved road and the rest is unpaved, observation of the architecture of the Bantu huts along the way, Lunch or picnic in Batouri depending on the time of departure, shooting along the road, arrival in the evening and installation at Elephant Hotel, dinner and overnight stay. This expedition requires a 4×4 given the state of the roads. Note that the night can also be in bivouac in Gribé in case we take the road to Lomié for this same trip, a lot of crossroads with logging companies due to logging in the region.

Day 3 : YOKADOUMA  – MAMBELE

Early wake up, breakfast followed by departure for Mambélé on an unpaved road also but maintained, meeting and sharing with the Ba’aka pygmies on our way, lunch at Membélé or picnic on the way depending on the weather, continuation of the trip in a moving spirit, arrival and installation at Camp Combo, entrance formalities at the Lobéké National Park. Dinner and overnight at Camp.

 Days 4, 5, 6 : MAMBELE – IMMERSION IN THE PARK

After breakfast the first day we take the vehicle to go visit the park in its Dangaï part this requires a 13km walk, arrival and installation for a three-days camping, we will observe from a watchtower of wild species such as: elephants, gorillas, sitatungas, buffalos, bongo, warthog and wild boar, three days of intense observation with some tracking of animals in their jungle (45 species of mammals, except rodents, are predominant. These are including elephant, gorilla, buffalo, antelope, bongo and panther. The densities of elephants, gorillas and chimpanzees are among the highest in Africa), dinners and overnight stays will be at Camp.

Day 7 : PARK- MAMBELE

Breakfast, Departure for Mambélé through the immense equatorial forest with the possibility of observing the animals on the way back, arrival at Membélé, report at the conservation offices, lunch, organization of the Baka dance, dinner and overnight stay. 

Day 8 : MAMBELE – BATOURI

Early wake up, breakfast, departure for Batouri 
through forest and savannah vegetation,
lunch on the road and contact with the population, 
arrival and installation at Sylviana Hotel, 
dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9 : BATOURI –  YAOUNDE

Breakfast, departure from Batouri for Yaoundé, Lunch at Bertoua, 
continuation to Yaoundé. Arrival and installation at the hotel, 
dinner in a city restaurant, overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: BATOURI –  YAOUNDE

Breakfast, departure from Batouri for Yaoundé, Lunch at Abong-Mbang, continuation to Yaoundé. Arrival and installation at the hotel, dinner in a city restaurant, overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: YAOUNDE – EUROPE

Breakfast, guided tour of the political capital of Cameroon city created since 1889 by the Germans KURT MORGEN AND GEORGES ZENKER it was first a scientific post it will then become a military post under the command of ZINGGRAFFE, lunch in a restaurant in the city, shopping at the craft center, cultural evening to the rhythm of the balafons in a bistro in the city after dinner and depending on the time of the flight, transfer to the airport – End of the tour.
